In 2005, the Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art in Luxembourg invited the artist and acted as a producer for the emergence of the submarine within the framework of the Second Biennale of Contemporary Art «Under the Bridges, Along the River II». Emergence of a strange object caused a stir in a restful slow-paced multinational town. Many visitors wondered and asked seamen looking out of the tower – the artist and his team - where the submarine had arrived from and how it fit into the bed of the small Alzette River. The title of the project “How deep is it? Where is the bottom?” sounded particularly relevant, when because of a severe hurricane, the first one in Luxembourg in the last hundred years, the submarine was torn off and carried away downstream. However, it managed to endure the storm, and slightly battered, but not defeated by the weather, the submarine continued its adventure in the unthinkable seas of contemporary art.
